Contact Lens Services Our primary goal in providing contact lens care is to minimize the ocular health consequences of contact lens wear for a lifetime of comfortable, clear vision with contacts. As a service to our eye exam patients, we offer contact lens fittings and routine lens evaluation services, as well as a full range of contact lens products. We have extensive experience fitting disposable, toric, gas permeable, bifocal, keratoconus and post surgical lenses.

Paragon CRT is a therapeutic contact lens that gently and temporarily reshapes your cornea while you sleep. You simply remove your lenses when you awake and experience great vision all day. Paragon CRT is new and FDA approved for all ages to correct myopia, also known as near-sightedness. No more torn lenses, broken frames, or discomfort sometimes associated with daytime contact lens wear. Whether you are playing sports or simply applying make-up, with corneal refractive therapy nothing stands between you and excellent vision. Stop dreaming about visual freedom and ask us to set up an appointment to see if Paragon CRT is right for you.

Hard or Rigid Gas Permeable Contact LensesHard or rigid gas permeable contact lenses (RGP'S) are made of various types of rigid translucent materials. They provide greater visual clarity than soft contact lenses, and do not need to be replaced as often.

Soft Contact LensesSoft contact lenses are made of flexible translucent materials. Soft lenses are generally more comfortable and can be worn longer than hard contact lenses. In addition, they are usually harder to displace from the eye than hard contact lenses. However, soft contact lenses may cause decreased tear production, require more cleaning and disinfection, and have a greater potential of leading to eye infection than hard lenses. The newest technology silicone or silicone-hydrogel contacts provide the greatest oxygen permeability and least amount of dry eye.  Some of the silicone-hydrogel lenses have also been approved by the FDA for overnight wear.  Ask our office for more details

Disposables All contact lenses are disposable, however the term "disposables" currently refers to soft contact lenses that, once opened, are discarded at least once a month or once every two weeks. Disposing of contact lenses on a regular basis helps to reduce the build up of debris and cellular materials that can cause adverse health effects to your eyes. Disposables offer many other advantages as well. By replacing the lenses often, vision is consistently clearer, and replacing lost or torn lenses is fast and inexpensive. In addition, enzymatic tablets are unnecessary when using daily wear two week disposables; thus, maintenance time is shortened. Furthermore, cleaning and disinfecting can be as simple as using one or no solutions.

Traditional A single pair of contact lenses used for one year is becoming less and less common. Tearing or losing just one contact can increase the cost on what you would have originally spent on a supply of disposable lenses.

Colors
Contacts to enhance or change the color of your eyes are available in both disposable and traditional lens types. To enhance your eye color, a contact lens combines your natural eye color with that of the contact lens color, which creates a unique new eye color. These lenses work best if your natural eye color is lighter. For darker eyes, opaque lenses are used to change your eye color to the color of the contact lenses. We offer a variety of different lens colors as well as “Halloween Theatrical” contacts. With these amazing lenses you can go to a party and impress your friends with cat eyes, white eyes, eight ball eyes, etc. Please ask us for details.

Astigmatism Contacts for astigmatism are called toric lenses and are available in one, two or three month planned replacement as well as traditional lens types. Most people that wear contacts have some mild degree of astigmatism. A small amount of astigmatism that is not corrected for does not affect vision greatly. During your eye examination, Dr. Noble and Dr. Simonson can show you an approximation of what your vision might be with and without your astigmatism corrected if you were using contact lenses.
